Letchworth Open, Hertfordshire’s largest celebration of creative talent, is back and bigger than ever! This year, the exhibition showcases the works of 455 artists, making it the largest edition to date.

Now in its fourth year, the Open presents an extraordinary range of artwork from artists across Letchworth, Hertfordshire, and neighbouring counties. The exhibition highlights the creativity of established professionals, emerging artists, graduates, students, amateurs, and first-time artists of all ages. Being non-selective, it features a diverse array of artworks including – painting, print, photography, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media, textiles, and video.

Three artists will be awarded the Letchworth Open Bursary, which includes a solo exhibition at Broadway Gallery in 2025, along with a CPD and mentoring program managed by the Gallery. Additionally, six subject-specialism prizes will be awarded in the categories of Drawing, Painting, Film & Photography, Sculpture, Applied Arts, and Printmaking. The popular People’s Choice Award also returns, allowing the public to vote for their favourite artwork until Friday, 25 October. All prizes and bursaries will be announced at 4 pm on Saturday, 26 October.

Are you attending our monthly life drawing session, or are you are seasoned pro seeking access to a brilliant model? We’ll begin with a few quick poses to warm up before focusing on a single pose, allowing you to concentrate on building up your drawing. Basic materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Easels are available on a first-come, first-served basis. This session is untutored, and places are limted to ensure plenty of room to spread out.

Join our friendly life drawing session! Each month you’ll be assigned a fun activity aimed at challenging your approach to drawing and understanding the human figure. We welcome participants of all skill levels, providing an opportunity for skill-building, practice development, and even those trying life drawing for the first time!

Basic materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Easels are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Join us at Broadway Gallery for our fantastic quarterly Drink & Draw event. No experience needed – just come, socialise, have a drink and let your creativity flow. Hosted by local artists Alexa Loy, this casual gathering invites you to meet new people, enjoy a drink and doodle the night away in a friendly atmosphere.

Plenty of drawing materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own, and your ticket includes a complimentary drink. The Broadway Gallery’s pop-up bar will be open for additional creative inspiration, with an open invitation to keep the conversation flowing at the Garden City Brewery afterwards.

Please be aware that the Gallery doors will close at 19.45 so please ring the doorbell if you arrive late.
