Guided butterfly walk through Hillbrow Grassland

Letchworth Festival

A gentle walk to spot and learn about local butterflies and dayflying moths.

On our walk we hope to see Britains’s smallest butterfly; the rare Small Blue which was rediscoveed in Hertfordshire at this site about 10 years ago. We should also find lots of other species of butterflies and dayflying moths.

Led by Andrew Wood, Hertfordshire Butterfly Recorder, who compiles and coordinates information about our butterflies on behalf of the county natural history society and the national conservation charity Butterfly Conservation. He is the author of the “Butterflies of Hertfordshire and Middlesex” (2016) and an Annual Report on Butterflies in the same area.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets are free, and any donations will be used to support our community connection to nature work.
