Uncovering Letchworth was a 21-month project led by the Garden City Collection, Letchworth’s ACE-accredited museum service, to explore the collection in new, inclusive ways.
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and National Lottery players through the Dynamic Collections grant, the project introduced a co-creative approach to working with our collections—enabling us to discover and celebrate local stories that had previously been underrepresented.
Through a series of community-led exhibitions, engagement projects, and special events, we aimed to make the Garden City Collection more reflective of Letchworth’s diverse community. Our ambition is that everyone in Letchworth can see themselves and their stories represented in the objects we care for.
